Mandeep Kaur Khurana, a city-based dietician, recently made it to the 20th National Masters Swimming Championship that was held in Bhopal in MP from November 10-12.

"I was the sole female swimmer representing Punjab in the competition," Mandeep said.

It was just a year ago that Mandeep started learning swimming just as a hobby but soon she got so interested and started taking professional training.

In the championship, she participated in four different race formats: 50 metres, 100 metres, 200 metres, and 400 metres.

"It wasn’t easy. I had to work harder than I ever imagined to reach this level," Mandeep stated. She threw light on her intense training schedule, "There were times when I felt like giving up, but the thought of representing my state and proving to myself that I could do it kept me going."

As Mandeep looks ahead, she remains committed to pushing herself even further. "This is just the beginning. I’ve learned so much in the past year and I know there’s much more to come. I’m going to keep working harder and aim for even bigger achievements,"  she said.
