Chabbewal Congress in-charge joins AAP
Congress’ Chabbewal constituency in-charge Kulwinder Singh Rasoolpuri, who was denied Congress ticket from the Chabbewal constituency, bade farewell to his party and joined the Aam Aadmi Party today.
In Chandigarh, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inducted Rasoolpuri into the party in the presence of Hoshiarpur MP Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal.
On this occasion, Rasoolpuri’s aide Gurpreet Singh, who is the president of the Congress Youth Wing, Chabbewal, and grandson of former Congress MLA Ram Ratan, also joined the party.
Kulwinder Singh was the main contender for the Congress ticket from Chabbewal, but the Congress gave the ticket to Ranjeet Kumar, who joined the Congress from the BSP.
Rasoolpuri expressed his opposition to the party and finally left the Congress. Rasoolpuri said he was associated with the party for the last 30 years and kept strengthening the party by working hard at the grassroot level. They worked hard for the party in the region, but the party betrayed them. First, they announced ticket to an outsider and later inducted him into the party.
Gurpreet, who is also a family Congressman, said, “We have been serving the party all our lives and the party has stabbed us in the back. The Congress brought a non-Congressman from somewhere and made him a leader, due to which the party men of the region are disappointed.” Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann welcomed both leaders in the party and assured them that they will be respected in the party.
