Jalandhar: DAV University, Jalandhar hosted a three-day faculty orientation programme. The event aimed at integrating modern technology and innovative teaching to meet the demands of 21st century education. It was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Manoj Kumar. The VC emphasised the necessity for educators to acquire new skills to enhance teaching effectiveness in a technological era.

Motivational talk

The School of Management and Applied Sciences in association with Training Placement Cell and Institution Innovation Council organised a session on ‘Turning your dreams into reality’ at Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus. Simerjeet Singh, a renowned international youth and career guidance expert, was the speaker of the day. Simerjeet Singh shared valuable insights on overcoming challenges, embracing a growth mindset, and harnessing inner strength. Sukhbir Singh Chatha (Director, Academics Affairs, KCL Group of Institutions) and Dr RS Deol, Director, LKCTC, appreciated the speaker for the impactful message delivered by him during the session.

Quiz competition

Ivy World School hosted Vasal Quiz Quest Season-2 competition. Students from nine different schools participated in this prestigious competition. The quiz master for the day was the well-known Murli Pillai. Nine schools were shortlisted for the quest. The competition consisted of two groups: Junior category (Grade VI to VIII) and senior category (Grade IX to XII). In the junior category, the first position was bagged by Gems Cambridge, Hoshiarpur. The school that emerged victorious by grabbing first position in the senior category was Cambridge International School, Dasuya.

Teej celebrations

Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Senior Secondary School was transformed into a vibrant hub of cultural festivities as students and staff celebrated Teej with fervour. The celebrations commenced with an inspiring speech that highlighted the significance of Teej and its role in fostering cultural appreciation and community spirit. Following the speech, students delighted the audience with energetic boliyan that resonated with the spirit of Teej.

Hariyali Teej

Hariyali Teej was celebrated with great pomp in St. Soldier Divine Public School, Mann Nagar. The chief guest on this auspicious occasion was the vice-chairperson of the Group, Sangeeta Chopra. She was welcomed in a unique manner by the school Principal Ambika Sharma, staff members and students. On this occasion, the girls displayed their art by presenting folk songs, songs, dance, gidda, bhangra and modelling. After the programme, various titles were given to the students and staff members.

Dashmesh Public School

Dashmesh Public School, Mukerian observed Hariyali Teej, a festival of women. Students took part in various activities of folk dances. Bangle and mehndi designing activities were being arranged on the campus. Swings remained the centre of attraction. Chairman Ravinder Singh and members of the management appreciated the participation of the students.

Foundation Day celebrations

Eklavya School celebrated its foundation day. A hawan ceremony was performed. Seema Handa, Director of Eklavya School, made offerings into the fire. Komal Arora, Principal, and Dimple Malhotra, Administrator, said hawan was performed for good health and wealth.

Roller Skating Championship

XXlV District Roller Championship was organised by the District Roller Skating Association, Jalandhar in Police DAV Public School. Students of different schools took part in the championship. Eknoor Singh Kalsi of Class V won the bronze medal in 500 meter roller competition and Jaskirat Kaur of Class V won silver medal in 1000 meter and bronze medal in 500 meter race. TNS
