Jalandhar: Students of School of Engineering, Design and Automation of GNA University participated in the India Design Week-2024 organised by the ICT Academy in association with Autodesk India. Over 8,000 students from 16 states participated in the initial round of competition. It was a 24-hour hackathon hosted by Sri Sai Ram Institute, Tamil Nadu. GNA University’s team bagged the 2nd position in India and received a prize of Rs 30,000 rupees, a runners-up trophy, and a certificate of recognition. The team consisted of Amandeep Singh and Gagandeep Singh from the B.Tech Mechanical and Automation Engineering programme. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, Chancellor, GNA University and CEO of GNA Gears, congratulated the team.

YOGA COMPETITION HELD

A house-wise yoga competition was conducted in Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr Sec School. Students participated in the competition with full vigour and vitality. This competition not only raised awareness about the importance of yoga for a healthy lifestyle but also encouraged students to integrate this ancient practice into their daily routines. First position was bagged by Luxmi House followed by Tagore House with second position and Gandhi House with third position.

POSTER-MAKING COMPETITION

Riva Dhawan, a student of Class VIII of Swami Sant Dass Public School, bagged the overall winner trophy in Inter-School Sahodaya Poster Making Competition conducted at Cambridge International School (co-ed). The budding artist outshone her competitors and impressed the judges with her palette of colours and creativity on the theme ‘Nature’ and was declared the winner among 64 teams from the district Sahodaya Complex in a tough competition.

SAPLINGS PLANTED

Guru Amar Dass Public School planted saplings under Plant Mother Drive in both its senior and junior wings. NCC cadets and other students along with Principal and Vice Principal planted the saplings. ‘Hit The Dance Floor’ competition was held in the junior wing for Nursey, KG and Senior KG students. Aishleen from Nursery, Angadveer of Junior KG and Vidhanshi of Senior KG bagged the first position. An inter house quiz completion was held for the students of classes III, IV and V. Students of Baba Mohan House bagged the first position.

Teej celebrated at The Gurukul

Teej festival was celebrated in The Gurukul with full fervour and vigour. All houses presented their performances based on Punjabi culture and tradition. Yashika from Rose House bagged the Title Miss Teej whereas Pratima from Orchid House got Badge of Miss Punjaban. The best Attire Title was crowned to Gurleen from Marigold House, Avni from Lotus House was tagged with Best Performer Award whereas Vanshika from Marigold got the position of the Best Ramp Walker.

Inter-House Hindi Declamation

Shiv Jyoti Public School held an Inter-House Hindi Declamation Competition for classes 9th to 12th. A total 25 participants participated in it. Rohini Sharma bagged the first position. Sanchita Soni got second position and Amuljot Kaur stood third position. Consolation prize was bagged by Somya. Overall activity was conducted by coordinator Ranju Sharma. Principal Parveen Saili acknowledged the efforts of the students and staff members.

Inter-House Carrom Competition

An Inter House Carrom Competition was held on the premises of Kamla Nehru Primary school, Hargobind Nagar, Phagwara. In doubles from grade 1 to 3, boys from Shivalik house and girls from Himalaya house were the winners. In the group of grade 4 to 5, boys from Nilgiri House and girls from Himalaya House were the winners. In singles, from grade 1 to 3 boys from Nilgiri House and girls from Himalaya House were the winners and in the group of 4 to 5 grade, boys from Nilgiri and girls from Himalaya House were the winners.
