Campus notes: Golden jubilee function at MGN School
Jalandhar: MGN Public School, Adarsh Nagar, celebrated its 50th annual function, marking the school’s golden jubilee. The event was graced by chief guest Sagar Singh Kalsi, Additional Commissioner of Police, East Delhi and guest of honour Dr Navneet Singh Mahal, SP Ropar, both MGN alumni. They were welcomed by Chairman Major Charanjit Singh Rai, Vice-Chairman Col DS Anand, Secretary Mukhtar Singh Dahiya and Principal Kanwaljeet Singh Randhawa. The celebrations featured various performances, including a play, music and dance, showcasing the school’s 50-year legacy. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Head Girl Vasuda Ahuja and Head Boy Shivansh Kalia.
Sahodaya group song competition
An inter-school group song competition was held at STS World School, with 23 schools participating. Seth Hukam Chand SD Public School secured the first prize, followed by Police Public School in second and Kamla Nehru Public School in third. Several other schools received consolation prizes.
Foundation stone for sports wing
The foundation stone for the renovated sports wing at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya’s Ojasvi Hostel was laid, funded by the Sud family.
Girls’ basketball tournament
The Junior Girls’ Basketball Tournament commenced at Delhi Public School, Jalandhar, with six teams, including two from Haryana and one from Himachal Pradesh. Colonel Vinod Joshi, Commanding Officer of 2 Punjab NCC Battalion, was the chief guest.
