As students of Classes X and XII gear up for their pre-Board and Board examinations, PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 took a proactive step to address one of the most critical issues faced by students – managing mental stress during exams. An insightful guest lecture titled, ‘Strategies regarding coping with mental stress during exams’, was delivered by Dr Amisha, a medical practitioner, for Board aspirants of the school. The session provided students with practical strategies to manage anxiety, enhance focus and improve their overall performance during this crucial phase of their academic journey. The event was organised by Principal Ravinder Kumar and vice-principal Ugra Mohan Yadav. Dr Amisha’s talk resonated with the students as she shared valuable tips on time management, relaxation techniques and maintaining a balanced routine during examinations.

Sports champions awarded

The Annual Champions Award Distribution ceremony was held to honour the sports champions of Innocent Hearts’ five schools (Green Model Town, Loharan, Noorpur Road, Cantt-Jandiala Road and Kapurthala Road) in the sports sector. The chief guest of the day was Pankaj Kumar, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Jalandhar and the special guest was Pankaj Sarpal (EDP Head, Regional Provident Fund Office). A presentation was given by Dr Dheeraj Banati (Deputy Director, Expansion, Affiliation, Planning Implementation) to promote sports and social awareness among the youth. It was announced that the national-level champions would receive coaching in various sports at Innocent Hearts Loharan, facilitated by the trust. The Loharan campus has been developed as a sports hub, featuring international-standard shooting ranges, basketball courts, soccer tables, air hockey tables, self-defence training, yoga and meditation zones. Nearly 400 students who won at the national, state and district level received the awards.

Apeejay Pinnacle 2024

Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus, Jalandhar, came alive as it hosted Apeejay Pinnacle-2024, an annual fiesta featuring 35 diverse competitions across management, IT and engineering. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Randeep Singh Heer, SDM, Jalandhar I, who praised the institute’s support during panchayat elections. Dr Rajesh Bagga, Director, welcomed the chief guest and the audience. The event began with various performances, including solo and group dances, mimicry, medley, debate, poster-making and sports like chess, badminton and basketball.

Farewell for teacher

Guru Amar Dass Public School, Model Town, gave an emotional farewell to its teacher Manjit Kaur Cheema in its junior wing. Cheema had served the institute for three decades as science teacher. Cheema was presented with a bouquet of flowers, gifts and memento by the school management. Mohinderjit Singh, president, Dr Aparana Mehta, principal, and Dr Sonika Singh, vice-principal, appreciated their association with the outgoing teacher and also expressed their appreciation for her contribution to the institute. Committee members Jaspreet Singh Sethi, Kanwaljit Singh Kochhar, Joginder Singh Gumber, Kultaran Singh Anand, Gagandeep Singh Sethi and Manmeet Singh Sodhi attended the event.

Quiz contest held

The Red Ribbon Club of Mehr Chand Polytechnic College organised an inter-departmental quiz contest to observe the National Pharmacy Week. Principal Dr Jagroop Singh presided over the event. He said that the main purpose of the event was to make the students aware of the ill-effects of drugs. He said students can play a vital role in eradicating the menace of drug addiction. Club president Prof Sundip Kumar, general secretary Major Pankaj Gupta and joint secretary Prof Abhishek Sharma welcomed the guests.
