Campus notes: Annual prize distribution
State Public School, Jalandhar Cantt, organised its annual prize distribution programme with the theme, ‘Utsav’. The students showcased their performances on the occasion. The chief guest at the function was Dr JS Gumber, a medical professional, an alumnus of AIIMS, Delhi, and a renowned specialist in cataract and squint surgeries. Managing Director Anmol Singh along with Principal Savina Bahl graced the occasion. The school also paid tribute to sports stars who have brought laurels to the nation in Olympics and Para Olympics. The live singing performance and bhangra turned out to be a show-stealer. Awards were presented to all meritorious students from classes 1 to 12.
Annual function
AN Gujral Senior Secondary School held its annual day celebrations on Sunday. Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Bittu and Punjab minister Mohinder Bhagat attended the event. They were welcomed by the trustees including Gurjot Kaur, Seema Chopra, Anuradha Sondhi, Neena Sondhi and others. The students gave various dance performances. Bittu toured the orphanage run by the trust and also announced an aid of Rs 10 lakh. Bhagat also announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh for it. Both ministers appreciated the role of the trust for the social cause.
Story-telling contest
Ivy World Play School, Civil Lines, organised the event ‘Express yourself through the art of narrative skills, magical myths’. The story-telling competition was held under the guidance of Principal Sanjeev Chauhan and Headmistress Shefali Sharma. Students took their creativity to the next level by narrating fascinating stories using their imagination. They narrated stories on funny incidents, real-life incidents and stories of their favourite characters. Children also dressed up as different story characters and used different props to narrate stories. The enthusiastic participation of Ivyians was acknowledged and appreciated by the school management.
Deworming Day observed
Deworming Day was observed at Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Senior Secondary School, Sangal Sohal -Variana, Kapurthala Road. Students were made aware about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The students also learned about simple yet effective ways to prevent worm infestations and maintain overall well-being.
Hindi debate competition
The campus of Swami Sant Dass Public School witnessed a battle of words and oratorical skills as the host of Sahodaya Inter-school Hindi Debate Competition. As many as 25 teams from the schools of Jalandhar Sahodaya Complex participated in this competition and impressed the audience and judges.
