Phagwara: Swami Sant Dass Public School celebrated its silver jubilee woven around the theme 'To explore our state, country, world, and planet’. The festivity of the event started for parents with 'Jaadui Pitara' an exhibition of creative work of students and teachers. The function was presided over by Swami Shantanand. Chartered Accountant Ashok Batra was the chief guest. The annual report was presented by the Principal. This was followed by a prize distribution ceremony. Various dance performances like Ramashtakam (semi-classical dance), aerial dance and folk dances captivated the audience. The props and costumes added colour to the festive occasion with the synchronised dance movement to the foot-tapping music. The most riveting performance which drew unceasing applause was bhangra — an astounding visual treat. A wonderful message of ‘humans being the super power’ was conveyed through the play based on artificial intelligence (AI) and the play ‘ Hello Christy’ touched the hearts of the audience. A school magazine depicting the 25 years of journey of the school was released on this occasion.

District-level athletics event

Jalandhar: The students of State Public School, Jalandhar Cantt, participated in the district-level athletics competition organised by the Punjab School Education Board at Doaba Khalsa Model Senior Secondary School, Ladowali Road. In the under-14 category, Aman secured the first position in the 600 m and long jump events, Abhishek won the first position in the triple jump and Umang won the first position in the 200 m and relay (U-14, U-17, U-19). Lovedeep (U-19) secured the second position in the triple jump, while Kaushal (U-14) in discus throw, Rohandeep (U-19) in triple jump, Umang (U-17) in 100 m, and Lovedeep (U-19) in high jump achieved third positions, making their school and parents proud. Students Rakhi, Manmeet, Babita, Aman, Abhishek, Umang, and Lovedeep have been selected to participate in the state-level competitions to be organised by the Punjab School Education Board. Principal Savina Bahl congratulated the winners.

CBSE Regional Science Exhibition

Jalandhar: Students Bharatesh Kumar and Angad Deep Singh, showcased their talent by creating a 'Health Guard' project in the CBSE Regional Science Exhibition, which got selected for the national level. Under the mentorship of Amit Kumar (HOD Physics), students have reached the national level for the third consecutive time. The students explained that their project is a system that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyse patients' symptoms and provide preliminary diagnosis. This system helps doctors to evaluate patients' conditions and prioritise treatment. This two-day exhibition was held at Nankana Sahib Public School, Ludhiana. Chairman Dr Anup Bowry congratulated the students and their mentor Amit Kumar.

Children’s Day celebrations

Jalandhar: CJS Public School celebrated Children’s Day under the guidance of Chairperson Neena Mittal. It was celebrated with great festive fervour to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The programme began with a special assembly conducted by the teachers followed by mesmerising presentations. An informative and inspirational speech was given by the Principal about the great leader, thinker, visionary and a true statesman — Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Students were elated to see their teachers performing and celebrating the day with zeal and enthusiasm. The Principal conveyed her greetings to the children on the special day. She guided the students to be more polite, respectful and kind in their life. She motivated the students to learn from the sacrifices made by Nehru and asked the students to keep him as an idol in all their endeavours.

Anti-Drug Awareness Rally

Kapurthala: Red Ribbon Club of Guru Nanak College of Education for Women organised an anti-drug awareness rally at Bhagatpur village under the directions of District Youth Services, Kapurthala. The objective of rally was to create awareness on the growing menace of drug-addiction among youth. The volunteers of club sensitised the villagers through anti-drug slogans.
