Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar Cantt, organised its annual day function with the theme ‘Ali, AI Aur Hum’. The chief guest at the event was Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Regional Officer, CBSE (Chandigarh/Punjab/Jammu & Kashmir). The guests were given a floral welcome by Principal Dr Rashmi Vij. A soulful blend of orchestra, singing and classical dance created a divine atmosphere reverberating with melody and rhythm. School magazine ‘Suragini’ was also released on the occasion. The main attraction of the cultural programme was the musical play ‘Ali AI Aur Hum’ which showcased how artificial intelligence (AI) is infiltrating our lives in numerous ways and having its impact on relationships and lives in general. Manager of the school Sween Puri gave a vote of thanks at the conclusion of the event.

Constitution Day

Constitution Day was celebrated across all five campuses of Innocent Hearts Schools (Green Model Town, Loharan, Cantt Jandiala Road, Nurpur Road and Kapurthala Road). The students were made aware of the importance of the Indian Constitution. As per the directions of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, students from class 7 to 9 were informed about the Preamble of the Constitution and were asked to uphold the sovereignty, secularism and dignity of India’s democratic republic. Students of classes 7 and 8 took an oath to faithfully follow the Constitution and vowed to always be ready to defend the nation’s democracy. For the students of class 9, a mock parliament session was organised where they expressed their views on the farm laws and the New Education Policy of 2020. The students participated as members of different political parties, engaging in debates as both government and Opposition MPs.

Legal quiz, debate competition

CT Institute of Law, South Campus, celebrated Constitution Day by hosting a legal quiz and debate competition to honour the Indian Constitution. Rahul Kumar Azad, CJM-cum-Secretary, DLSA, Jalandhar, attended the event. The participants gained valuable insights into the significance of the Constitution, reinforcing the importance of upholding the rule of law and protecting democratic ideals. Dr Manav Dhindsa, principal of CT Institute of Law, expressed his thoughts on the occasion: “This day is a reminder of the values enshrined in our Constitution, which guide our democracy. We take pride in educating our students not only in legal principles but also in the duty to uphold justice and equality for all.”

KMV celebrates Constitution Day

The Department of Political Science of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya celebrated Constitution Day. The students took the pledge to promote brotherhood and mankind and to maintain the unity and integrity of the country. A poster-making and slogan-writing competition was organised in which students from all streams participated. Principal Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi emphasised on the importance of Constitution and reminded the students that the Constitution only gives people the right to pursue but we have to take stand for our own rights. The principal lauded the efforts of Ashima Sahni and Dr Iqbal Singh for organising the Constitution Day celebrations.

Guitar course concludes

The Skilled Courses Hub of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya concluded a skill development course ‘Harmony with Guitar’. The duration of this course was 40 hours. The resource person was Samuel, a professional guitarist. HMV Skilled Courses Hub in-charges Binoo Gupta said that the fee for this course was Rs 2,500. The course was conducted under the Head of Music Instrumental Department, Amanpreet Kaur. Outsiders were also allowed in this course. Even the boys were allowed to learn guitar under this course. Principal Prof Ajay Sareen said that it is the need of the hour for the youth to get equipped with all types of skills. She congratulated Binoo Gupta and Amanpreet Kaur on the completion of the course.

National medal in badminton

Spring Dale, Amritsar, student Nilesh Seth of grade XI bagged gold medal in the Badminton School National Games, winning accolades for Punjab and the school. His achievement also ended the medal drought for Punjab in the game. “The championship, held in Narmadapuram of Madhya Pradesh, saw a close fight for medal between candidates from different states and while representing Punjab, Nilesh proved his mettle by bringing home the gold medal,” shared Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Chairman, Spring Dale school. School principal Rajiv Kumar Sharma congratulated the winner and the team of mentors behind this success.
