Smart Living Programme— Safe India
Sri Chaitanya Techno School organised a ‘Safe India Programme’ to create awareness on road safety and to everyone, especially children, aware of the reasons for road accidents. Inspector Meena K Pawar (In-charge Traffic Education Cell) and her team led the programme. She told the students, “It is a community concern programme and its main aim is to bring to light the value of life and how to protect it while moving on roads. We read in textbooks, watch on TV and listen to speeches about road safety measures. But immediately after reading, watching or listening, on our way back home, we violate a dozen traffic rules with the excuse that we need to reach early.” She highlighted that the main reasons for accidents are over-speeding and negligence. The mistake could be on part of the victim or the offender, but a precious life leaves this world, with unfulfilled promises or unattained hopes, she said.
