Swachhta hi Sewa campaign

The NSS unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College concluded the Swachhta hi Sewa campaign under the directions of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports by organising a skit and elocution competition on the topic, ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’. Principal Dr Jaspal Singh emphasised that cleanliness should start from self and should not be confined to the environment only. Cleanliness of thoughts is also very crucial to address other issues like safety of women. Chief Programme Officer Prof Satpal Singh informed that Krishma and Apurva Dhir won the first and second positions in elocution while Balpreet Kaur and Prabhjot Kaur came third. In skit, B.Com semester I girls got positions and the NSS volunteer team got the second position. The winners were given medals, certificates and cash prizes as well. NSS volunteer Sonu Sunar who won the National Social Icon Award 2024 in Haryana was also felicitated at the event.

PPT competition at LPU

Cambridge International School emerged victorious in the recent PowerPoint Presentation Competition at the Edufest organised in Lovely Professional University, Phagwara. The winning team showcased exceptional talent and creativity in presentation, design and delivery. The event brought together participants from 20 schools, all competing for the top spot wherein Kashish Sharma of Class IX secured the first position and earned a gold medal and certificate. The winning presentation titled, ‘Future of Space Exploration’, captivated the judges with its innovative approach and graphics added by Kashish. Principal Jorawar Singh congratulated Kashish for bringing laurels to the school. Chairman Jasbir Bassi appreciated the performance and encouraged Kashish Sharma to give her best in future endeavours.

Veggie Day activity

CJS Public School organised a Veggie Day activity for Class LKG. The activity was organised in the campus under the guidance of school management. In this activity, students spoke some sentences about the vegetables and about the importance of eating healthy by showing the placards and real vegetables. Chairperson Neena Mittal was also present on the occasion. She motivated them to eat fruits and vegetables and avoid fast food and junk food.

IKG PTU Youth Fest North Zone

CT Group clinched the overall trophy at the IKG PTU Youth Fest held at Amritsar Group of Institutions. Over three days, students from the CT Group showcased their talent. On the first day of the event, CT Group’s performances stood out with their team winning the first place in skit, classical instrumental (Percussion), classical instrumental (Non-Percussion) and Vaar singing, along with a second place finish in Bhangra and classical vocal solo. The second day saw CT Group dominate again, securing first place in folk song, light Indian vocal, group shabad and group song Indian, while also claiming second place in one-act play, where they were also awarded for ‘Best Actress’, and in debate. The final day of the festival brought further success, with CT Group winning the first place in giddha and best dancer award, as well as second place in western solo and western group categories, capping off a stellar performance that ensured their triumph in the festival. Chairman of CT Group Charanjit Singh expressed his pride in the students.

‘Swachta Di Lehar’ event

Ivy World School participated in ‘Swachhta Di Lehar’ organised by the Government of Punjab. The cleanliness drive was inaugurated by Dr Ravjot Singh, Cabinet Minister of Punjab, who emphasised the importance of community involvement in maintaining a clean environment. The school students showcased their commitment to the cause by creating colourful posters and catchy slogans that promoted cleanliness and environmental stewardship. Director Aditi Vasal said that participating in initiatives like ‘Swachhta Di Lehar’ not only enriches the learning experience of students but also reinforces their dedication to a cleaner, healthier environment. The Director-Principal expressed pride in the students’ enthusiastic participation, stating that the students are future leaders and it is essential for them to understand the value of cleanliness and environmental responsibility.
