Brief: Two women force kids to beg, booked

Hoshiarpur: The police have registered a case against two women for forcing children to beg. Harjeet Kaur, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Hoshiarpur, had reported it to the DC's office. ASI Narinder Kumar said accused Sarita and Rekha reportedly forced their children to beg. He said this was not the first crime of the women. Earlier also, they had committed such crimes. oc

Two held with drugs, liquor

Hoshiarpur: The police have arrested two smuggling accused, including a woman, recovering drugs and liquor from them. The police have arrested Harjinder Kaur, a resident of Mazara Deengriyan, and recovered 19,500 ml liquor from her. 14 Cows, two oxen rescued

Hoshiarpur: The police have recovered 16 cattle, including 14 cows and 2 oxen, being taken to Jammu, stuffing them in three vehicles. Three accused carrying them have been arrested and booked under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. oc
