BJP’s Ravneet Bittu targets farm leaders, vows to bring party to power in Punjab by 2027

BJP leader and Union Railways Minister Ravneet Bittu launched a scathing attack on Punjab’s farm leaders, claiming they are “destroying” the state. Speaking to the media in Jalandhar, Bittu asserted that the farmers’ agitation had no impact on Haryana Assembly election.

Bittu expressed confidence in BJP’s prospects in Punjab, stating, “After our victory in Jammu, we’ll bring BJP to power in Punjab in 2027, not for ourselves but for the state’s development.” He praised Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a developed India and pledged to replicate this success in Punjab.

Critiquing farm leaders, Bittu questioned their silence on farmers’ plight in mandis. “Why don’t they help lift crops or speak up now?” He highlighted the Centre’s Rs 44,000 crore allocation for procurement and MSP.

Taking a swipe at the Aam Aadmi Party, Bittu said, “AAP is fragmented in Delhi; they need to find their own alliance now.” He emphasised that other parties have been “tested” and that BJP is the sole viable option.

Bittu’s remarks come amid BJP’s efforts to expand its presence in Punjab.
