BJP Mahila Morcha members protest
Jalandhar, January 30
The Mahila Morcha of the district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today held a massive demonstration against the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in the state over its failure to deliver its promise of doling out a grant of Rs 1,000 per month to women.
The protest was held in front of the DC office where they burnt an effigy of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Aarti Rajput, district president of the morcha, led the protest holding brooms in their hands saying people would use their brooms to wipe out AAP in the days to come.
The women raised slogans against the state government saying it had come to power in Punjab two years ago on the basis of falsehood.
District general secretaries Shama Chauhan and Shalu and office-bearers Meenu Rani, Anju Bala and Sonia Babbar said the AAP had shown a false hope to the people of Punjab.
“Now, people have come to know that they had been fooled and it was all a bundle of lies. Punjab voters will now teach them a lesson to AAP in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections,” they said.
