‘Audios evidence’ to be released before Jalandhar West bypoll, says BJP’s RP Singh

BJP national spokesperson RP Singh today said the “audio evidence”, which party candidate Sheetal Angural has, would be released before the Jalandhar West constituency goes to polls.

He said the CM should have declared that AAP candidate Mohinder Bhagat would be made state’s Deputy CM. The BJP leader, while condemning the attack on Shiv Sena leader Thapar in Ludhiana, said the law and order in the state had collapsed. He said the CM was ignoring larger state issues in pursuit of winning the Jalandhar West bypoll.

Speaking to the media in Jalandhar, Singh said, “Bhagwant Mann is also the Home Minister of the state, but his focus is not on law and order. It’s only on how to win the Jalandhar West by-election. Shiv Sena leader is luck that he survived. This is not the first instance such a thing has happened. In another recent instance, security personnel had vanished from the spot. It’s their duty to protect those with whom they are deputed for providing security.”

Singh said, “Mann Sahib goes to Goa, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh. He is not worried to fix the situation in Punjab. He has made Jalandhar West by-election a prestige issue.” Speaking about AAP candidate, who was a former BJP leader, Singh said, “If CM Sahib’s heart is clean he should declare that AAP candidate Mohinder Bhagat will be made Deputy CM. We respect Chunni Lal Bhagat (Bhagat’s father). We gave him the biggest post of the party. CM should make the declaration like we did.”

Speaking about Angural, Singh said, “Our candidate openly challenged the CM who asked him to release evidence tomorrow. But when he actually came and waited, the CM didn’t come. The BJP candidate even called CM to give him the pen drive.”

On asking when the audio evidence would be released by Angural, Singh said, “It will be released. Give some time. It will be released before the constituency goes to poll.” Answering queries on whether the BJP was reliant on turncoats, Singh said, “Angural is from out party only. It’s a homecoming for him.”

Speaking on Central probes promised by the BJP on drugs and smart city the BP leader said, “The judicial process is under way. All these are white collared crimes. These people are smart. The police or investigative agencies will take their time for investigations.”
