Hoshiarpur, July 15

Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa has said all Improvement Trusts have been strengthened by the government through auction of residential and commercial properties and e-auction of vacant land of the Trust for years. People have got property at reasonable rates and the income of the Trust has also increased, he said.

Jimpa was addressing mediapersons on Monday after giving allotment letters to 16 successful bidders of e-auction at the office of Improvement Trust, Hoshiarpur. The minister said that during the bidding held from February 20-22 through e-auction, properties of the Trust worth about Rs 3 crore were sold. Jimpa said that a residential scheme of 7.73 acre, Rajiv Gandhi Avenue, is being established which has been approved by the Punjab Government. In this, modern facilities like clean water, sewerage, wide roads and streetlights will be provided. Residential plots will be allotted through draw of lots at government rate, he said.
