An anthology of poems titled "Bulh Sitiyan Sarna Nayin" by Punjabi author Prof Jaswant Singh Gandam was recently released at a 'Lok Arpan' function by Gurdeep Singh Sehra, Chancellor of GNA University. This is Gandam's first poetry book, although he has previously authored four other works, including three prose books and around 500 articles for Punjabi newspapers. He began writing poetry at age 11 but only published it now at 75, describing it as an expression of his passions. The collection features 88 poems written over the past decade, particularly during a "creative fit" in 2015-16. Themes include the exodus of Punjabi youth, the loneliness of elderly parents, and the impact of technology. Sehra highlighted the therapeutic effects of art, while other attendees, including notable Punjabi poets and writers, praised Gandam's literary contributions for their quality and depth. The book is published by Punjabi Virsa Trust.
