Admn geared up for peaceful civic body poll
As the State Election Commission has announced the schedule for Municipal Corporation and Nagar Panchayat elections, the district administration has fully geared up for free and fair election process, said District Electoral Officer and Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal.
Panchal said in Kapurthala district, the elections for the MC, Phagwara, and Nagar Panchayats of Begowal, Bholath, Nadala and Dhilwan would be held on December 21 from 7 am to 4 pm. The nomination process would start from December 9 to 12 and for that, the district administration has made adequate arrangements. The nomination papers to be submitted from 11 am to 3 pm.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on December 13, followed by withdrawal of nominations on December 14.
The results will be announced on the same day.
