5 booked, 1 held for making passport on basis of fake papers
The Bullowal police have arrested a member of a gang after registering a case against five other persons on charge of giving shelter to a suspect wanted in various crimes and preparing his passport on the basis of fake documents.
ASI Gurmeet Singh of Bullowal police station said Vikas Kumar, a resident of Palwal, Kurukshetra district, Haryana, was arrested and interrogated in connection with a case. During interrogation, he told the police that his accomplice Kishan Kumar runs a Common Services Centre from a house, where he prepares various types of certificates and government documents. He said three months ago Amritpal Singh, alias Amrit, a resident of Dalam Nangal village, Jalandhar, came to them. He told them that many cases were registered against him in Punjab due to which the authorities had refused to make his passport. Vikas said he got the passport of Amritpal Singh made in the name of Gurpal Singh, a resident of Gurdev Nagar, Kurukshetra, Haryana.
Vikas told the police that around 20 days ago, Amritpal met him again. Vikas said Amritpal asked him to give him shelter as he had killed two people. After this, Amritpal stayed with Vikas for seven days. During investigation, the police found that apart from Vikas and Kishan, three more persons were involved in the case.
The police registered a case against five suspects, including Amritpal Singh, Vikas Kumar, Kishan Kumar, a resident of Palwal, Gurdhyan Singh, a resident of Ambala, and Rampal, a resident of Karnal in this connection initiated probe.
