Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma on Thursday felicitated 42 officers with Class-I commendation certificates for their dedication.

The CP said that a total of 42 officers were recognised with Class-I commendation certificates for their outstanding service. Swapan Sharma said that these officers have also been given cash awards amounting to over Rs 7.5 lakh owing to their role in public safety. These officers include seven inspectors, four sub-inspectors, 11 assistant sub-inspectors, five head constables and 15 constables.

The Police Commissioner on Thursday also conducted a surprise check at police stations in the city. He checked the Division number 7 and 8 police stations. The CP checked the pendency of cases in these police stations and asked the officers to clear them. He said that inordinate delay in dealing with cases is unwarranted and undesirable. Sharma said that such laxity on part of the police officials will not be tolerated at any cost.
