In a bid to curb drunken driving and public liquor consumption, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police conducted a night-time operation, issuing 41 challans over a three-day drive. The initiative, aimed at enhancing public safety and law enforcement, was conducted from November 9 to November 11, under the supervision of the ACP, Model Town.

The operation targeted areas under Police Station Division Number 4 and Division Number 7, with police teams led by their SHOs and supported by Emergency Response Services (ERS). Officers actively monitored zones near wine shops and ahatas, employing breath analysers to identify and penalise individuals driving under the influence of liquor.

During the drive, 125 vehicles were checked, leading to significant action against violators. A total of 11 challans were issued for drunken driving, while five motorists faced penalties for operating two-wheelers without proper number plates. Additionally, 12 challans were handed out for helmet violations and five individuals were fined for triple riding. Two vehicles were flagged for illegal black film use and six vehicles were impounded for lacking proper documentation.
