4 nabbed for MC employee murder, weapons recovered

The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has apprehended four persons involved in a brutal murder of MC employee Deepak Kumar at Buta Mandi on August 20.
According to police officials, the investigation began following a complaint from Ajay Kumar, a resident of Deol Nagar, Bhargo Camp. Kumar reported that his elder brother Deepak Kumar, alias Deepu, who worked as a cleaner for the Municipal Corporation, had been embroiled in a financial dispute with Avtar Singh, alias Tari.
Avtar of Mohalla Jallowal Abadi, had allegedly borrowed Rs 1.5 lakh from Deepak about two months ago.
On the evening of August 20, around 7pm, Deepak, accompanied by his friend Anil Kumar, alias Gaggu, went to Buta Mandi to retrieve the borrowed money from Avtar. However, the confrontation quickly turned violent. Avtar, along with a group of 9-10 accomplices, allegedly attacked Deepak and Anil.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, Deepak succumbed to his injuries. Anil, who also sustained injuries during the attack, is currently undergoing treatment.
The police had been registered an FIR at the Bhargo Camp Police Station.
