Phagwara: The police have arrested two women drugs peddlers and seized five gram of heroin and 70 intoxicated tablets from their possession on Saturday night. SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti said the accused identified as Soma and Shinderjit Kaur, residents of Kirpalpur colony, Phagwara, were nabbed at a check-point. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused. OC

Gold, cash stolen from house

Phagwara: The police have booked some persons on the charge of stealing cash and jewellery from a house. Inderjit Singh of Khiva village complained to the police that thieves barged into his house and decamped with Rs 20,000, jewellery and passport. A case under Sections 331 (house trespass) and 305 (theft in dwelling house) of the BNS has been registered against them. OC

3 booked for snatching cash

Phagwara: The police have booked three miscreants on the charge of snatching cash from a petrol pump salesman. The accused had been identified as Paramjit Singh of Ami Wal village, Balwindar Singh, of Sahej Lal Pur village in Moga and Rajwindar Singh of Sher Pur Tiaba village in Moga. Bhagat Singh of Chanan Windi village complained to the police that the accused had snatched Rs 64,000 from his petrol pump on August 5 by threatening a salesman. A case has been registered against the accused. OC

Train collides with tractor-trailer

Jalandhar: A train coming from Hoshiarpur to Jalandhar collided with a stationary tractor-trailer near Adampur railway quarters on Sunday. The impact of the collision was so severe that it shattered the trolley into pieces and caused damage to a train coach.
