The Commissionerate Police here launched an intensified two-day operation against traffic violations across key areas in the city on Wednesday. The special drives, led by Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma, targeted multiple locations in an effort to enhance road safety and enforce traffic regulations.

The first operation, supervised by ACP, Headquarters, Manmohan Singh and ACP, Model Town, Harjinder Singh was launched between 6pm and 10pm. Officers set up nakas and conducted vehicle checks at Model Town Market and PPR Mall. These operations involved police teams from division numbers 6 and 7, focusing on maintaining smooth traffic flow and ensuring safety of all residents.

During the drive, 55 vehicles were checked and four were challaned for illegal black films on their window panes.

Another drive was conducted earlier in the day between 12 noon and 4pm at the city bus stand. Assisted by the bus stand chowki incharge, the police inspected 100 vehicles, ensuring that all vehicles had legal registration numbers.
