Jalandhar villager booked for attempted rape of minor; Tarn Taran man charged with extortion

In Jalandhar, the Nakodar Sadar police have charged Som Lal alias Sodhi, a resident of Khunn Khunn village, with attempting to rape a minor. The incident occurred on the morning of November 8 when the accused allegedly entered the victim's grandfather's house and attempted to assault his granddaughter. A case under sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered, and efforts are underway to arrest the absconding accused.

Meanwhile, the Lohian Khas police in Tarn Taran have booked Satnam Singh alias Satta, a resident of Naushehra Pannuan village, on charges of extortion. The accused allegedly made two WhatsApp calls to a local resident, demanding Rs 50 lakh in ransom. This is the second extortion case filed against Satta, with a previous complaint in October by another victim.
