Jalandhar police crack down on drug peddlers, multiple arrests made

Three men were also taken into custody for apprehension of breach of peace in Nurmahal

The Bilga Khas police have arrested a drug peddler on charges of selling intoxicant tablets here. The investigating officer, Avtar Lal, said that 100 intoxicant tablets were seized from Surinder Singh alias Babu, a resident of Mao Sahib village.

A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Additionally, two proclaimed offenders (POs), Harjindar Singh alias Shaily and Akash, were arrested in Mehatpur and Nurmahal, respectively. Shaily was wanted for drug-peddling, while Akash was sought in a theft case.

Furthermore, three men - Gurdeep Singh, Sandeep Singh, and Surinder Pal Singh - were taken into custody for apprehension of breach of peace in Nurmahal.

An FIR has been registered under Sections 128 and 129 of the BNNS against them.
