The Centre for Women’s Studies at the University of Jammu (JU) organised a gender sensitisation workshop for students and scholars from the Department of Botany.

The session was led by Prof Savita Nayyar, Director of the Centre for Women’s Studies, who addressed the theme “Gender Sensitisation and Gender Equality: An Overview.” Prof Susheel Verma, Head of the Botany Department, emphasised the significance of such workshops and shared personal experiences to illustrate how small gestures, like sharing work at home, can help challenge patriarchal mindsets.

Dr Saranjit Kaur, faculty at the Centre for Women’s Studies, spoke about the Centre’s ongoing efforts to promote gender awareness among students and scholars, while Prof Namrata Sharma of the Botany Department also shared her experiences to contribute to the discussion.
