Off-duty Army jawan shot at by terrorists in Pulwama

An off duty Territorial Army (TA) soldier was injured after allegedly being shot at by terrorists in Tral area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir on Wednesday, said officials.

Daleer Mushtaq, a resident of the Aripal area in Tral, sustained a bullet injury on the leg. The incident occurred near his house at Sofigund Aripal area in the evening, they said.

Officials said the Armyman, who is posted in north Kashmir, was on leave and had come home to spend time with his family. “He suffered a bullet injury and his condition is stable,” said a police officer, adding that he was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Security personnel have cordoned off the entire area and launched a massive search operation to track down the assailants, the officials added.
