Not speaking BJP’s language: CM on EVM row
The Congress should raise the issue of electronic voting machines (EVMs) throughout the year, instead of raising it only after losing elections, said Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister (CM) Omar Abdullah on Wednesday. He added that he will not refrain from speaking the “truth” after becoming the CM.
He said, “If no EVM, should we go back to ballot paper? Have we forget what used to happen with ballot paper. Votes were forced into ballot boxes. I have not forgotten that. My first election was a paper election. Also, my second election was a paper election. Later, these machines came up. If not EVM, then what?” he said.
Abdullah also clarified that he has not changed his politics after becoming J&K’s CM and is not “speaking the language of the BJP”.
