NIA chief, DGP push for better coordination in terror cases

The Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Dinkar Gupta, held discussion with Director General of Police RR Swain to increase coordination among the two agencies for investigation of terror cases. Gupta paid a visit to the police headquarters in Jammu where he interacted with Swain and other senior officers.
Gupta was accompanied by NIA’s Inspector General Vijay Sakhare and Deputy Inspector General Amit Kumar. ADGP (police headquarters) MK Sinha, ADGP (armed police, law and order) Vijay Kumar, State Investigation Agency’s DIG Ajeet Singh Salaria and NIA’s Jammu SSP Sandeep Choudhary were present during the talks.
An official informed that during the meeting, the officers deliberated upon updates regarding the ongoing investigation of terror crime cases and action plans to take them to a logical conclusion.
Besides this, the officers exchanged ideas and insights regarding terrorism, terrorist-separatist ecosystem and new network of the national security adversaries in Jammu and Kashmir to sustain the dwindling edifice of Pakistan sponsored anti-India campaign.
The officers further decided in the meeting that in pursuit of curbing terrorism, sharing of information and expertise plays an important role so it should be worked upon to improve the existing level of cooperation. Coordination in matters of training, court hearings, deputation of personnel were also discussed.
