Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan chaired a meeting with Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) officials to assess the district’s power situation and winter readiness.

The DC was briefed on Kishtwar’s power infrastructure, which relies on a 132-kV line and grids managed by Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL). The district’s power demand stands at 100 MW, while the current transformation capacity is 60 MVA, split between the 40 MVA Kattarswami Grid and the 20 MVA NHPC Colony Grid. Efforts are underway to augment Kattarswami Grid’s capacity by 30 MVA to meet growing demand.

The DC directed enforcement agencies to intensify action against electricity theft and illegal meter bypassing.
