Former governor of Jammu and Kashmir Karan Singh on Monday condoled the passing of Ustad Zakir Hussain who had roots in Jammu.

“I am shocked to learn that the great percussionist Ustad Zakir Hussain has passed away in San Francisco. His father Ustad Allah Rakha Khan was from a village in Jammu and always cherished his association with the Dogra. I knew Zakir Hussain from the time he was a child,” Singh said.
