Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary conducted an extensive tour of remote areas of Panchari and Moungri in Udhampur district to assess the progress of developmental works and mega projects under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and Public Works Department.

During the tour, Choudhary inspected Road Projects from Kaith Gali to Moungri, Moungri to Ladda and Kaith Gali to Panchari (PMGSY) road. Expressing dissatisfaction over the dilapidated condition of these roads, he directed the concerned departments to blacklist contractors failing to meet timelines or delivering substandard work.

Choudhary emphasised the need to expedite ongoing projects by deploying additional manpower and machinery and adopting double shifts where necessary. He stressed the importance of maintaining quality standards and completing all projects within stipulated timeframes to maximise their on-ground impact. “Roads and bridges are the backbone of any region’s development. Proper connectivity not only enhances the economy but also improves the overall quality of life,” he added.
