Jammu woman peddler held with ‘heroin’

The Jammu police have arrested a woman drug peddler along with heroin which she was planning to sell.
A police party from RS Pura had established a check-point and were conducting routine checking and patrolling at Puro Bhana village.
During the naka, the police spotted a woman who was on the way from Puro Bhana towards RS Pura. On seeing the police party, she tried to escape from the spot.
“Alert policemen, along with women constables, led by SHO RS Pura successfully apprehended her. During inquiry, the woman disclosed her name as Tara Devi, a resident of Puro Bhana of RS Pura tehsil in Jammu district. The police seized 1.5 gm heroin-like substance from her possession,” an official informed.
A case has been registered under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act at RS Pura police station.
The spouse of the accused has already been detained under the stringent PITNDPS Act.
“The J&K Police requests the people to come forward and share inputs so that the miscreants spreading the drug menace in society can be eradicated,” the official said.
