Cops attach terror associate’s house
In a significant crackdown on terrorist activities, the Sopore police have attached a double-storey residential house, belonging to a terror associate, Aamir Rashid Lone, along with 15 marlas of land.
The attachment was executed under the provisions of Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, after receiving approval from the competent authority, the police said.
“This action reaffirms the commitment of the Sopore police to combating terrorism and disrupting the support structures that enables nefarious activities in the region,” the police said.
They said the attachment of the property was a part of the ongoing efforts to choke the financial and logistical support for terrorist organisations and their enablers.
“This operation sends a strong message that the law enforcement agencies would not relent in their pursuit of those who seek to undermine peace and stability of the police district,” the police said.
