Congress panel holds meet on poll debacle
The Jammu and Kashmir Congress Committee’s disciplinary panel held a crucial meeting on Wednesday on the recent electoral debacle in the Jammu region.
Chaired by former minister Mula Ram, the meeting of the disciplinary committee discussed several pressing issues related to indiscipline within the party, recent electoral outcomes, and other significant matters impacting the party’s integrity and overall performance, a statement by the party read.
“During the meeting, members engaged in a thorough examination of the factors contributing to indiscipline among party members, emphasising the necessity for a unified approach to uphold party values and cohesion. The recent election results were also a major focus, with the committee analysing the outcomes and identifying specific areas that require immediate attention to enhance the party’s effectiveness in future electoral contests,” the statement read.
It stated that the meeting marks the first in a series of planned discussions, aimed at developing constructive recommendations to address the identified challenges. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for Thursday, where further deliberations will take place. After completing these discussions, the committee will compile a comprehensive report to be submitted to the party president.
“The JKPCC Disciplinary Committee remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering discipline and unity within the party, recognising that these elements are crucial as the party navigates current challenges and prepares for future endeavours,” the statement said.
