Community officers being ignored in J&K, claims Gujjar body
All J&K Gujjar-Bakerwals Organisation Coordination Committee has claimed that a “step-motherly” treatment was being meted out to the officials in the administration from the community.
Coordination Committee chairman Anwar Chowdhary alleged the community has low representation in the administration, “but whatever little representation it has even that is being meted out a step-motherly treatment. Almost all the IAS and IPS officers, doctors, engineers have been sidelined and placed in very insignificant postings,” he alleged.
He further claimed that none of the officer has been posted as head of the district administration. Anwar Chowdhary said that Gujjar- Bakerwal officers have proved themselves quite honest performers and efficient in discharge of their duties.
“But unfortunately, the successive governments have continuously ignored the Gujjar employees,” he said and urged the government “to shun discriminatory attitude towards the Gujjar employees, failing which the coordination committee shall be constrained to come on the roads for protecting the rights of community employees.”
