CM Abdullah calls on President
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
“Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah called on President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan,” President of India’s official account said on X.
A government spokesperson said in a statement that the visit marks a “significant step in Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s official engagements since taking office as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir last month.”
In recent weeks, the new Chief Minister has held discussions with top leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of Roads, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
On Wednesday, CM also met Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar. On November 12, he attended the Conference of Power Ministers of the states and UTs. The spokesperson said the Chief Minister was also scheduled to meet Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tomorrow.
