Bittu hits back at Rahul Gandhi amid Jammu and Kashmir alliance troubles
Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu has fired back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying he should focus on addressing the concerns of his ally, National Conference (NC), rather than asking Prime Minister Narendra Modi to clarify BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s remarks on farm laws.
Bittu’s response came after NC vice-president Omar Abdullah suggested that Rahul should campaign in Jammu instead of Kashmir, pointing out that the Congress campaign in Jammu has yet to begin despite the alliance allocating a significant number of seats to the party in the region.
Bittu, on the sidelines of a FICCI event in the capital, said that troubles have already begun within the NC-Congress alliance, even before the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls have concluded.
“Rahul should first answer his ally, which has rejected him today,” Bittu said, referencing Omar’s statement. “Omar Abdullah has pointed out that Gandhi hasn’t campaigned in the seats allocated to the Congress in Jammu, but has instead come to Kashmir, where the Congress doesn’t even have candidates. Omar has rejected Rahul.”
Bittu emphasised that Gandhi needs to address the concerns of Omar Abdullah and NC, particularly given their discussions on sensitive issues like Pakistan and Article 370.
Kangana Ranaut had previously stated that the farm laws should be reintroduced but apologised for her remarks today.
