Army urges residents living close to LoC to report suspicious movement
The Army has urged the residents of areas close to the Line of Control (LoC) to report any suspicious movement to the security forces immediately.
The Army organised an ‘Awam meeting’ in Jagal village in Mendhar of Poonch to promote trust and faith among the local population. The event aimed to provide a platform for local residents to share their issues and challenges.
An Army spokesperson said, “The Army informed the local residents about various initiatives taken for their welfare, such as medical assistance, distribution of sports items, solar lights and tarpaulins. The local residents were also requested to report any suspicious activities in their area without delay.”
The spokesperson said that the meeting was attended by prominent village authorities, including lambardar, ex-sarpanch, BLO, ESMs, and others. The initiative was welcomed by the local residents, which fostered trust and faith in the Army, he said.
“The Awam meeting was a significant step towards building a strong and peaceful relationship between the Army and the local population. The meeting provided an opportunity for the locals to interact with the Army personnel and understand their role in maintaining peace and security in the region. The Army efforts to engage with the local population are commendable and are expected to bring positive results in the long run,” the spokesperson said.
