The district police claimed to have seized 134 kg of poppy husk at Jakhani on the national Highway here today.

While sharing the details, Rajiv Pandey, SSP, said a police party, led by Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary, SHO, Udhampur police station, laid a naka at Jakhani on the national highway and stopped a truck (PB13AR 5475) for checking. During checking, 134 kg of poppy husk was seized from the vehicle.

The police impounded the truck, while the driver managed to escape. The police registered a case. — OC
