ISC Class XII Exams: Patiala students Yuvnoor Dhillon, Joy Jasmine Kaur bring laurels

Yuvnoor Dhillon of Yadavindra Public School and Joy Jasmine Kaur of The British Co-Ed High School bagged all-India second rank in the Indian School Certification (ISC) Class XII examinations, the results of which were announced today. Both students scored 99.5 per cent marks. Ripanjeet Toor of British Co-Ed High School bagged all-India third rank with 99.25 per cent marks.

Officials at Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, said the students registered 100 per cent pass result, with six of them scoring more than 98 per cent marks. They said: “As many as 13 students of the school have scored more than 95 per cent marks. As many as 32 students scored above 90 per cent, 31 scored more than 80 per cent and 18 students scored above 70 per cent marks. No student scored less than 65 per cent marks”.

The school toppers include Yuvnoor Dhillon of arts stream (99.5%), Jasnaaz Sidhu of commerce (98.75%), Divnoor Samra of arts (98.5%) and Chetanya Singla of science (98.25%).

Officials at The British Co-Ed High School, Patiala, said Joy Jasmine Kaur (science) topped the school with 99.5 per cent marks, followed by Ripanjeet Singh Toor (science) with 99.25 per cent and Nikhil Partap Singh Dhillon with 98.5 per cent. Japunit Kaur from the humanities stream scored 98.5 per cent marks, while Sakarth Singh Brar of commerce scored 97.75 per cent marks.

Joy Jasmine Kaur said: “It feels great to score above 99 per cent marks. I scored 100/100 in chemistry and mathematics. I plan to pursue computer science or software engineering. Consistency is an important factor that helped me study. Support from teachers and parents also helped me a lot.”

Yuvnoor Dhillon of YPS said: “I owe my gratitude to my parents and family for their consistent moral support. Guidance from the school management, director and the faculty helped me a lot. Instead of studying all at once just ahead of exams, I was regular with daily revisions and studied for 2-3 hours every day.”

Ripanjeet Singh Toor, who topped the district in Class X board exams as well, said: “I wish to pursue four-year bachelors with physics as majors from the University of Alberta, Canada. I followed the Pomodoro Technique to ensure that I was not burdened with studies. I aim to do research at a professional level and become a physicist”.

Officials at Kaintal School on the Sanaur road said a majority of the students from the school performed well and scored above 80 per cent marks. Husanpreet Kaur topped the school with 97.75 per cent marks. She was closely followed by Dilpreet Kaur (97.25%) and Gurashdeep Kaur (96.25%). School officials said 37 per cent students scored above 90 per cent marks, while 63 per cent scored between 80 and 89 per cent marks.
