Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva launched a website for the 9th International Gita Conference “Srimad Bhagwad Gita and Sustainable Ecosystem” to be held at the KU from December 5 to 7.

The KU will organise the conference in collaboration with Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB), Kurukshetra.

After launching the website, Sachdeva said this website would provide an easy access to the whole conference with all its components. This conference was an attempt to spread the teachings of the Bhagawad Gita nationally and globally.

Conference director Prof Tajinder Sharma said through this website, a special student talent search competition namely ‘The Gita insights challenge’ was being initiated as part of the conference for the UG/PG students of Kurukshetra University and affiliated colleges. In the first level of social media engagement, students would be required to upload the videos related to Bhagawad Gita. In the second level, there would be interactive session to evaluate the students' knowledge. This competition is going to be hosted by Institute of Law, KUK.

The ‘Flyer and brochure of student talent’ search competition were also released on this occasion.

An amount of Rs 1 lakh will be given as first prize, Rs 51,000 as second prize and Rs 21,000 as third prize. Five consolation prizes of Rs 11,000 each will also be given.

Honorary secretary of Kurukshetra Development Board Upender Singhal said all support would be provided by the KDB for the smooth organisation of this conference.

Conference Deputy Director Prof Vanita Dhingra said only those students, who were nominated by their departments, would be allowed to participate.
