‘Integrity indispensable to nation’s prosperity’
KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva said corruption-free India and integrity is indispensable to a nation’s prosperity.
He was speaking after administering oath of integrity, transparency, accountability, and honesty towards work, to officials and employees of the university. The vigilance wing, Kurukshetra University, is organising Vigilance Awareness Week on the theme ‘Prosperity of the nation through the culture of integrity’ from October 28 to November 3 under the aegis of the Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi.
While addressing the employees, Sachdeva said corruption was the biggest obstacle in the country’s economic, political and social progress. To eliminate corruption, all stakeholders like government, citizens and private sector need to work together. Every citizen should be vigilant and should always be committed to the highest standards of honesty and integrity and support fight against corruption.
KU Chief Vigilance Officer Prof Sunil Dhingra said the oath ceremony was organised in the university and Vigilance Awareness Week was celebrated every year across the country during the week in which the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel fell.
