Infra for charging electric vehicles

Faridabad: Haryana will soon have an infrastructure facility for charging all types of electric vehicles (EVs) as the state government has formulated an Electric Vehicle Policy to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and strengthen charging infrastructure in the state. The policy proposes to create better infrastructure facilities for charging of electric vehicles. This was disclosed by Dr Hanif Qureshi, Director General, Haryana New and Renewable Energy Department, who was the chief guest at the inaugural session of two-day AICTE-sponsored International Conference on ‘Recent Developments in Electrical and Electronics Engineering’ (ICRDEEE 2022) organised by the JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad.

Awareness programme on HIV/AIDS

Yamunanagar: An awareness programme on HIV/AIDS was organised by MLN College, Radaur. In the programme, Ram Kumar, counsellor of integrated counselling and testing centre, intimated the students about the symptoms, causes, prevention and treatment of this disease. Ankit, an adolescence counsellor from Civil Hospital, Radaur, exhorted the audience to spread awareness on this disease to check its alarming growth. He also demystified many myths related to the genesis of this disease. Dr Mala Sharma, the convener of the club, thanked the speakers for their efforts in enlightening the students. Dr Deepak Kaushik, principal, lauded the efforts of the club for organising such sensible programmes.

National seminar on Guru nanak

Karnal: One day multi-disciplinary national seminar on “Guru Nanak Dev Ji Da Baani Sansar” organised by the Punjabi department of Dyal Singh College, Karnal, in association with the Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Academy, Panchkula. Dr Aashima Gakhar, principal, inaugurated the seminar and said, “Guru Nanak’s teachings hold great significance in contemporary times when people have lost tolerance and humanity is under threat.” Dr. Baljinder Singh, head, Punjabi department, invited the chief guest, Dr GS Dhamija, Deputy chairman, Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Academy, Panchkula, shared many interesting tales from the life of Guru Nanak, raising important questions on the true meaning of life, and the actual role of a Guru.

Carnival at govt college

Rohtak: Government College, Meham, organised a carnival on the college campus, wherein students displayed their talent by cooking food and making decorative and other items on their own. Dr Shilpi and Dr Varsha Rani, members of the organising committee, said college principal Asha Malik inaugurated the carnival and boosted the morale of students by applauding their skill. “Such programmes need to be organised at regular intervals to provide the students an opportunity to show their talent,” Asha added.
