The entrepreneurs of Focal Point have taken serious note of the firing at the factory of an entrepreneur on Tuesday morning by gangsters seeking extortion money.

At a meeting organised here on Wednesday under the banner of ‘Tarn Taran Focal Point Association’, the entrepreneurs said that two motorcycle-borne armed gangsters fired at the factory. They had made a WhatsApp call to the entrepreneur earlier at night. Harbhajan Singh Khalsa, president of the association, while speaking on the occasion, said there were as many as 50 units providing jobs to as many as 300 workers. He said the administration has provided no security to the entrepreneurs as a result of which incidents of snatching, loot and theft have become routine. He said the Focal Point is located near the roadways bus stand and a posh locality.

He said there was a police post previously which has been closed now but incidents of crime have increased. He said the administration has provided no security at the Focal Point though the entrepreneurs give crores by way of GST to the government. He said that the entrepreneurs have decided to approach the higher authorities to seek round-the-clock security for the Focal Point area.
