Indian culture takes centre stage at 3-day Himalayan fest in Indora
In a bid to promote Indian art and culture, a three-day Himalayan culture festival began at the premises of Arni University, Kathgarh, in the Indora sub-division of Kangra district on Friday.
The programme is being organised by the Youth Development Centre, Kangra, in collaboration with the Ministry Of Culture, Government of India under the guidance of Himachal Pradesh Language, Art and Culture Academy.
The festival was opened by the university chancellor Vivek Singh, who lit the ceremonial lamp in the presence of Youth Development Centre director Karan Bhushan.
The programme will conclude on Sunday, and former union minister Vijay Sampla will preside over the closing ceremony. On the first day, a Natti performance staged by young folk artistes mesmerised art and music lovers. As many as 200 youngsters and folk artistes from the state, Punjab, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir are showcasing cultural performances at the event.
