Chandigarh, August 18

A woman doctor was allegedly assaulted by a patient and his attendants at a Mumbai hospital, according to media reports.

The incident happened at Sion Hospital on Sunday.

The assault took place in the wee hours of morning when the doctor was on duty in a ward.

All the accused were allegedly drunk.

The incident comes close on the heels of the rape and murder case in a Kolkata hospital and the following nationwide outrage.

The doctor received injuries while trying to defend herself.
