Vice President includes Kiran Choudhury in Rajya Sabha vice chiefs panel
Kiran Choudhary, senior BJP leader from Haryana, who recently switched camps from the Congress, on Monday made an entry into the prestigious panel of vice chairpersons of Rajya Sabha.
Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar announced the re-constituted panel of Vice-Chairpersons for 266th session of Rajya Sabha naming Choudhry and Congress leader Ajay Maken among new members.
The Rajya Sabha members incorporated to the panel of Vice-Chairpersons include S Phangnon Konyak, P T Usha, Kiran Choudhry, Mamata Mohanta, Ghanshyam Tiwari, Sasmit Patra, Ajay Makan, and Bhubaneswar Kalita.
Responding to her selection, Choudhry, a former Congress legislature party leader, said: “Thankful to Hon'ble @VPIndia & Chairman, Rajya Sabha, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji, for including me in the esteemed panel of Vice-Chairpersons for the 266th session of #RajyaSabha. Looking forward to contributing to the smooth functioning of the House.”
