TMC’s Ghose submits privilege motion notice against Rijiju

Trinamool Congress’ Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose on Thursday submitted a privilege motion notice against Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju for making a derogatory remark against opposition leaders in the Upper House.

The notice has been signed by leaders from opposition parties, a source said. They demanded an apology from Rijiju and sough his remark to be expunged.

Rijiju had on Wednesday said, “Opposition members are not fit to be in Parliament.”

“I have moved a privilege motion against Rijiju. This kind of statement is not expected from a Parliamentary Affairs Minister. All Opposition party members have signed the motion. We want an apology from him and also want that the remark be expunged,” Ghose said.

Rijiju has condemned the INDIA bloc’s move to submit a notice for the removal of Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
